When individuals require a hospital stay for a surgical procedure or illness, families often feel the need to provide their loved one with a companion throughout their stay. Americare can provide that special someone who can provide additional assistance and companionship. Facilities usually welcome the additional support provided by an outside caregiver, as they are often short-staffed at certain times throughout the day or night. Due to COVID and other facility restrictions, we must obtain proper approval to enter and remain in each facility.

The transition from an inpatient stay at a facility to an individual’s own home can be a rapid process filled with uncertainty and anxiety. With the help of the Americare team, we aim to make this transition as seamless as possible. Our team will work with the client and their family to develop a plan of care with their recovery process in mind. Our highly trained caregivers will walk alongside the client throughout their rehabilitation to ensure the client is given the level of assistance they need while helping them reclaim their strength, endurance, and confidence. Many of our clients need temporary assistance with activities of daily living such as ambulation, transferring between surfaces, toileting, dressing and support with light housekeeping tasks, while others simply need monitoring and supervision until they feel confident in their abilities. While we do not provide skilled care, our team works closely with clients, their home health provider and/or therapist(s) to address the client’s specific needs during recovery and encourage them to reach their rehabilitation goals.
